My Journey with My Grandpa

My Grandpa: Manuel Lopez

My grandpa was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2010. I was 10 years old but I never truly recognized the severity of the disease because of how strong my grandpa was. He passed in 2016 and throughout the last year there were many hospital visits after school where I got to see and speak to the wonderful nurses caring for him.

Oncology Nurses

I was able to see the care given by the oncology nurses. I was always inspired how they let me know of hardships but their love for their job and patients outweighed.

Care

I was also able to see the care my grandma gave. She was at his side throughout it all. I was able to observe the nurses give patient/family teaching.
